Herodotus was the first Grecian historian, known as the Father of History. He was born in the year 484 B.C. in Halicarnassus, Asia Minor. During his youth, he travelled Greece, the Middle East, and North Africa. During his travels, he studied the manners, customs, and religions of the people and find out as much as he could of their explanation. The things he learn from the trip formed the materials of his greatest work, which is called History.
